If you are looking for a quality computer that is truly a
bargain, August 18th is the time for you to get it.
That is when the New Jersey Computer Club is having their first annual
Giant Computer Yard Sale in the field on Prince Rodgers Avenue in Bridgewater.
There will be over two hundred pieces of equipment, including computers,
monitors, printers, scanners, laptops and other peripherals.
The computers cover a broad range in power.
They go from P90’s, which are ideal for students, seniors and anyone
who wants basic functions such as word processing, financial tracking and access
to the Internet without all the expense of more complicated models, to powerful
computers with speeds of 500 MHZ and above.
There will be some Macs for Apple fans, and some PCs with Millennium, but
most will be PCs with Windows 98 operating system.
Monitors, keyboards and mice will be part of most packages.
Officers of the Computer club who are professional computer
experts have been busily building new computers, refurbishing those that have
been donated from area companies and thoroughly testing all of them before they
are presented for sale. There will
be a 30-day “repair or replace” guarantee as additional quality assurance.
The New Jersey Computer Club is a non-profit organization
that is dedicated to advancing education in the field of computer science.
Proceeds from this yard sale will help fund scholarships for students
taking computer training. The club meets twice a month at the North Branch Reformed
Church in Bridgewater (on Route 28 near Milltown Road) where they hold workshops, have vendor presentations to keep up with
the state of the art, and exchange ideas to help each other become more skilled.
New members are welcome, and can join by going to the website at www.njcc.org. |
