Holiday
Party/Chinese Auction
Rich Byrne, the 1st Vice-President of the New Jersey
Computer Club and past President, will coordinate the annual Holiday
Party and the Chinese Auction at this meeting. For the Holiday
Party, members are requested to bring in their favorite holiday food,
snack or drink to share with all on this special occasion.
Our regular Chinese Auction will feature useable software and hardware
donated by members. Please bring in items to donate to this. We would
prefer Pentium level and Windows 98 or above. Three Free tickets will be
available to members with the option to purchase an unlimited amount of
$1 tickets for bidding on these items.
A special Chinese Auction for NJCC Members ONLY will feature new
software and other items donated from past presenters to the NJCC.
Tickets will be priced at $3 each (or $10 for four tickets), and all
proceeds will benefit the NJCC Memorial Award Fund.
In the Random Access time session, we will concentrate on
assisting
members to learn more about how they can help themselves become more skilled
by using software help functions including the use of the Internet to get
help/information useful to them. Members
are encouraged to make specific requests prior to the meeting to our
Program Director by e-mail at program@njcc.org
We will also have a short session on Identity Theft and an opportunity
to obtain help to minimize the effects of this crime. The Federal Trade
Commission recently released a survey indicating there were 9.9 million
victims just last year. The consumers who had their identity stolen last
year reported $5 billion in out-of-pocket expenses.
