Users Workshop - Session 1
Professor
Tom Kehoe
Do you or a friend need information on computer
basics? Tom Kehoe is offering a free, two-session workshop on "PC
Basics." The first session will be on May 22, 2002 from 7-9 p.m.
and the second session will be on June 26, 2002 also from 7-9 p.m. The
workshops will cover such basics as operating systems, file management,
computer viruses, and getting into applications such as word processors
and spreadsheets. Each session will include illustrated lectures and
audience questions. Free, personalized follow-up by email or telephone
will be available. Added hands-on sessions can be arranged.
Tom Kehoe is currently the Secretary of the New Jersey Computer Club.
He recently retired form Union County College after serving as a
professor there for 35 years. Tom's education includes a Ph.D., New York University, 1978;
M.A., Fordham University, 1961; B.A., St. Meinrad College, 1960. Tom has
also published two books: Thomas J. Kehoe, Harold E. Damerow, and
Jose M. Duvall, Exploring Western Civilization: To 1648 (Dubuque:
Kendall/Hunt, 1997) and Thomas J. Kehoe, Harold E. Damerow, and Jose
Marie Duvall, Exploring Western Civilization: 1600 to the Present,
revised edition (Dubuque: Kendall/Hunt, 1999).
As the PC revolution gathered steam, Tom made use of computers in his
teaching in a number of ways. He laid out the two publications mentioned
above in camera-ready copy using Word, taught online courses in Western
Civilization, developed an orientation CD for online students, created
Web pages for use in his regular classroom courses, and encouraged
student use of email in classroom courses by requiring weekly essays
submitted by email.
Come join us for a night of learning the basics of PC use with a man
who is willing to share his in-depth knowledge at no cost to you.
