Video Tape Transfer to CD

By John Beck, 2nd Vice-President of the NJCC

John will explain the process he developed to transfer video/audio images from both 8mm and VHS camcorder tape to a CD using hardware and software from Dazzle, OrangeLink and MGI VideoWave. John's presentation will include at least one of the productions he created.

Multi-Boot System

By Rich Byrne, 1st Vice-President of the NJCC

Rich will demonstrate his multi boot system using a switching device called a Trios. He can boot operating systems from distinct hard drives without fear of conflict or crashing one system because of an error or virus on the other. He is now using Linux to do e-mail and surf the Internet. His e-mail and browser are handled by Netscape 6 and he also has a Word and Excel compatible Office environment from Sun Micro called StarOffice 6. If he needs to use a Microsoft only program, he can boot to Windows.
