Minutes of the September 8, 2004 The regular second Wednesday monthly General Meeting of the New Jersey Computer Club was held at the North Branch Reformed Church starting at 7:00 PM. There were 23 members in attendance. Fred Sabin greeted the members present, and then had a tribute and moment of silence for NJCC member Nat Gutmacher, who died on August 5th at the age of 88 in Orlando, Florida. Fred then gave brief information on: • “Quick Drives” to 4 GB as a “boot drive” (with six foot USB extensions at $2.59). • Gene Barlow’s article on “The Perfect Backup Approach. NJCC needs volunteers for both open positions and backups for current positions. • Requests for NJCC assistance > Refurbished systems / hardware and software help / new users training and assistance Tom Kirk, a frequent visitor to the NJCC, then did another very interesting presentation on new products currently available from Creative Labs, Inc., including the Zen Portable Media Center and the Sound Blaster MP3+. He also donated a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS to the NJCC for our December Chinese Auction to benefit the NJCC Memorial Award program.
