Minutes of the December 10, 2003
New Jersey Computer Club General Meeting

The annual NJCC Holiday Meeting of the New Jersey Computer Club was held at the North Branch Reformed Church starting at 6:30 PM. There were 35 members and guests in attendance.

There was a huge selection of all types of foods to eat, thanks to the many members who brought their favorite holiday food or snack to share with all on this special occasion. Many members also helped tremendously with setup, running the Chinese Auctions, and cleanup. This assistance was greatly appreciated!

The two Chinese Auctions raised $258 for the NJCC Memorial Award Fund. Our regular Chinese Auction featured useable software and hardware donated by members. In addition, a special Chinese Auction featured brand new software, hardware, and other items donated from past presenters to the NJCC (including Adobe, AMD, Logitech, Microsoft, O’Reilly, Peachpit Press, and PowerQuest).

John Beck announced that Fred Sabin is currently scheduled to make a presentation on a "Passel of Stuff” (with details to follow) at our January 14, 2004, Regular NJCC Meeting. Details will be posted on the “njcc.org” website.

Regina Stewart, CPA, from Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. then made an excellent presentation on Identity Theft. A Federal Trade Commission survey indicated that there were 9.9 million victims last year with a reported $5 billion in out-of-pocket expenses.

The meeting adjourned at 9:35 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Fred Sabin
President
