Minutes of the April 10, 2002
New Jersey Computer Club Meeting

The regular monthly Meeting of the New Jersey Computer Club was held at the North Branch Reformed Church starting at 7:05 PM. There were approximately 35 members and guests in attendance.

• John Beck welcomed all present and had new guests introduce themselves and tell how they found out about the NJCC.

• The January, February & March 2002 Minutes and Treasurer’s Reports were approved as posted on the NJCC website.

• John Beck announced that SoundPix is offering a special price for their SoundPix Plus software for members of user groups.  If a member orders through their “www.soundpix.com” website from now to May 31, 2002, they will receive a $5 promotional discount.  To get the discount, simply enter the code, "ug2002" in the shopping cart while ordering.

• John Beck announced the programs for several meetings. On April 24th, Adobe will present a demo on Acrobat Writer. On May 8th, we will have a demo on the use of PowerQuest to partition a hard drive.  Tom Kehoe, our Club secretary, will give two workshops for new users on PC basics. The first will be held at the North Branch Reformed Church on May 22nd and the second on June 26th. Details may be found on the njcc.org website.

• John Beck gave updates on the RVCC Computer Club & May 4-5 Trenton Computer Festival.

• Orders for surge protectors were reviewed.

• Rich Byrne made a presentation on OpenOffice.org and on Presto OCR Pro.
