NJCC
and Raritan Valley Community College's ATCC will hold a joint Microsoft
meeting on October 17, 2001. The new Windows XP operating system will be
the subject of this
meeting.

September
5th NJCC Executive Committee Meeting was discussed.
Membership Chairperson, Rich Giorgi, has resigned this position. The
Executive Committee is grateful for his years of devoted service. Terry Beck
was appointed the new Membership Chairperson. 2002 NJCC Dues will remain at $36/year
for two persons at same address. 2002 NJCC Officers will
be elected at the November meeting.
The NEW
JERSEY COMPUTER CLUB FOUNDERS’ MEMORIAL AWARD SCHOLARSHIP held a
computer yard sale on August 18th to raise funds for our scholarship
program. Thus far, the net proceeds of the sale are $2636. Raritan Valley
Community College (RVCC) held a luncheon for the first two co-recipients of
the scholarship on September 17th. The general membership, without dissent,
approved the following actions taken by the Executive Committee:
1) The $500 Founders' Memorial Award previously given to RVCC students will
be taken from scholarship funds rather than from general funds.
2) $500 from general funds will be donated to the non-profit Cooperative
Housing Corporation. This corporation provides subsidized housing and has
generously provided Phil Corbo with storage space needed for our refurbished
computers program.
-
John
Beck discussed future programs, including Doug Beck's workshop on
assembling a PC scheduled for September 19th.
-
After
a short break at 8 p.m., Russell AIN of BAMnet, an ISP that charges on a
per minute basis, made a presentation.
Respectfully Submitted,
Tom Kehoe, Secretary
