Minutes of the July 11, 2001
New Jersey Computer Club Meeting

  • John Beck opened the meeting at 7:06 p.m. by handing out forms for volunteers. There were approximately 28 members and guests in attendance.

  • The Minutes of the last general meeting and the Treasurer's Report, as posted in the Newsletter on the "njcc.org" website, were approved.

  • NJCC and Raritan Valley Community College's ATCC will hold a joint Microsoft meeting on October 17, 2001. The new Windows XP operating system will probably be the subject of this meeting.

  • There will be no regular meeting in August. The September 12th regular meeting may deal with ISP's who offer Internet access by the minute. The September 19th workshop will examine the hardware components needed to build a PC. Fred Sabin, our President, suggested that we should try to find an ASP to discuss renting software over the Internet.

  • Len Kopf has a review of Jigsaws Galore which is on our NJCC website.

  • The NEW JERSEY COMPUTER CLUB FOUNDERS’ MEMORIAL AWARD SCHOLARSHIP is holding a computer yard sale on August 18th to raise funds for our scholarship program. We need volunteers to distribute flyers, etc. for the event. John Biegel and Tom Kehoe volunteered to help Phil Corbo test HP printers to be sold at the event.

  • Phil Corbo recently supplied the Bound Brook Library with seven refurbished computers as part of the Club's volunteer work.

  • The new product activation requirements for Windows XP were discussed with many misgivings.

        Respectfully Submitted,

        Tom Kehoe, Secretary
