Minutes of the April 18, 2001
New Jersey Computer Club Meeting

 

  • Fred Sabin, President, called the business portion of the meeting of the New Jersey Computer Club to order at the North Branch Reformed Church at 8:00 PM. There were approximately 56 members and guests in attendance. Fred welcomed all in attendance.

 

  • The Minutes of the last general meeting and the Treasurer's Report, as posted in the Newsletter on the "njcc.org" website, were approved.

 

  • Fred Sabin announced that the NEW JERSEY COMPUTER CLUB FOUNDERS’ MEMORIAL AWARD SCHOLARSHIP had been implemented. The first grant of $500 from NJCC general funds will be given to a student to be chosen by Raritan Valley Community College. Future awards may go to persons associated with other institutions. An agreement and correspondence has been received from RVCC.

 

  • PCEXPO passes for JUNE 26-28 @ JAVITS CENTER will be available for members only. Send an e-mail to "president@njcc.org" with your name(s), address, telephone number, and e-mail address requesting a ticket(s) to PCEXPO.

 

  • TRENTON COMPUTER FESTIVAL will be held at the NJ CONVENTION CENTER - EDISON - May 5&6.

  • John Beck reviewed the subjects of future NJCC meetings.  John will discuss Microsoft Excel on April 25th. Future presentations will include Prepaid Legal and, possibly, Circuit City.

 

  • John Beck also announced that he had received offers from vendors to let the Club evaluate their software. Interested Club members should see John.

 

  • Fred Sabin announced that the NJCC.ORG domain name was now properly registered as belonging to the Club.

 

  • The presentation of this meeting by Doug Beck extensively reviewed the functions within the Control Panel.
