October 13, 1999 Meeting Minutes

  • Fred Sabin called the joint meeting of the New Jersey and Raritan Valley Computer Clubs to order at the Raritan Valley Community College at 7:45.

 

  • There were 97 people in attendance, a combination of members and guests from both clubs.

 

  • Fred introduced himself and Dean Chulvick (Dean of Information Technologies at RVCC) to the assembly.

 

  • Fred introduced the New Jersey Computer Club to the group, including a brief history of NJCC, from its beginnings with the CP/M Operating System, on the Osborne1, in 1981 to the current status of the club.

 

  • NJCC Key Personnel could be identified by their 'Blue Tags'.

 

  • Second Wednesday Meetings are held at the North Branch Reformed Church. 

 

  • Upcoming Second Wednesday presentations will include:

November 10 - Jasc Software (Paint Shop Pro, Image Robot and Illuminatus)
December 8(Holiday Party) - Microsoft
January 12 - MGI Software (PhotoSuite, Final Cut and Image Editor)
February 9 - Corel (WordPerfect)

  • Third Wednesday Workshops, also held at the church are available for members who may have Internet, Hardware or other questions.

 

  • Fred talked about NJCC Membership and its benefits, including:

NJCCMAIL (Email list serve)

  • Fred announced that all that were in attendance, who had signed in, would be eligible for the three Adobe products that were to be raffled at the end of the meeting.

 

  • It was announced that Phil Corbo received the "Founders Award for Volunteer Service" from the Brain Injury Association of NJ.

 

  • Fred introduced and handed the meeting over to the evening's presenter, Noha Edell, an Applications Specialist from Adobe Systems Inc.
