MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER
10, 2003
MEETING
OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
OF THE NEW JERSEY COMPUTER CLUB
Members Present:
John Beck, Rich
Byrne, Tom Kehoe, Lenny Laich, John O'Neil, Fred Sabin, and Doris Smith
The
meeting was held at the North Branch Reformed Church.
 |
Fred
Sabin remembered our departed Executive
Committee member, Jim Russ.
The Club computer and projector that were stored at Jim Russ's house
have been returned. It was agreed now to store the Club's computer
and projector at John Beck's house. A motion was approved that
Executive Committee members may
borrow the PC or projector in the future for activities that support
the purposes of the Club.
|
 |
Doris
Smith agreed to serve as Librarian until the end of the year. She
was duly elected as Librarian for a period of six months by the
Executive Committee.
|
 |
A
motion to change the name of the Club scholarship from the "New
Jersey Computer Club Founders' Memorial Award Scholarship" to the
"New
Jersey Computer Club Memorial Award" was approved. The
purpose of the change is to honor deceased members such as Jim Russ
who, while not a Club founder, made outstanding contributions to the
good of the Club and the community.
|
 |
Members
of the Executive Committee are invited to attend Fred Sabin's
presentation at Arbor Glen and assist where appropriate. Fred will
email info on time, etc.
|
 |
John
Beck made a motion to maintain NJCC dues at $36 a year with a
reduction to $30 if dues are paid before the January 1st of the new
year.
All new members who give $30 will be paid-up through December 31,
2004. The motion passed.
|
 |
Fred
Sabin announced that NJCC needs liability insurance for use of the
Church's premises. The Church's insurance company, after a review,
has insisted on such insurance. The issue will be revisited in a
future meeting.
|
 |
There
was a consensus that Club members may provide computer-related
messages for inclusion in the Club Newsletter to Rich Byrne. The
Newsletter is not an appropriate vehicle for other types of
information.
|
|
The
Executive Committee Meeting was adjourned prior to the start of the general
membership meeting. Respectfully
submitted,
Tom
Kehoe
Secretary
